About
In 2021, I defended my diploma in painting (MA) at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Zielona Góra (Poland). I have participated in several dozen group exhibitions, including in Fabriano in Italy, New Delhi in India and Albi in France, as well as in my native country - Poland at the Pryzmat Gallery in Krakow, the Okna Gallery in Lublin, the Centre for Glass Heritage Gallery in Krosno, and the BWA Gallery in Zielona Góra. I have held several solo exhibitions, e.g. in the Museum of the Lubusz Land in Zielona Góra, the Ethnographic Museum in Zielona Góra and the Lubuskie Military Museum in Zielona Góra. I am a member of the Association of Polish Visual Artists and the Association of Friends of Vitrails "Ars Vitrea Polona" based in Krakow. My work is held in private collections in Germany, Switzerland, Canada and Luxembourg, as well as in the Lubuskie Military Museum and the Ethnographic Museum in Zielona Góra. My paintings can be purchased by contacting me directly or at the PRO ARTE Gallery of the Association of Polish Visual Artists, Zielona Góra Branch, at Stary Rynek 2-3, Zielona Góra.
Artist statement
I seek light in both the literal and figurative sense. I am interested in nature and humanity, with its problems and predatory nature towards other people, animals and plants. I work on projects using oil, acrylic and watercolour techniques:
1. The "Protest" project - in it, I try to sensitise viewers to the problems of today's world. It includes individual paintings, e.g. referring to the ecological disaster in the Oder River, or reacting to the news of the successful implantation of human cells into mice, but also, among others, a series of self-portraits entitled "Chip! chip. little chip...", which I created inspired by information contained in the books ’The Fourth Industrial Revolution" by Dr. Klaus Schwab and "Kwantechizm, czyli klatka na ludzi" (freely translated: Quantum Catechism 2.0 or the cage for humans" by Prof. Andrzej Dragan (the future of human chipping and the achievements of quantum physics enabling total interference in human biology...).
2. The "Forest Bathing" project is a series that I have been creating since the COVID-19 pandemic and through the outbreak of war in Ukraine (a country neighbouring Poland) – as an internal need to react to the "realism of the world". I have transformed the avalanche of stressful situations, destructive feelings, but also hope and admiration for nature into abstract paintings, referring to the Japanese practice of healing through forest bathing - Shinrin-yoku (more about forest bathing - below, under the list of exhibitions). The cycle includes a series of watercolour paintings – inspired by the work of Gerhard Richter and Zao Wou-Ki, among others – as well as acrylic paintings and wooden objects.

Shinrin-yoku – Forest bathing – its essence is the natural environment – the forest and the human ability to "immerse oneself in it", i.e. to intensively absorb the sounds, smells, light, colours and the very air that fills the forest ecosystem. This process takes place by walking slowly through the forest, looking for birds, listening to their songs, observing the treetops, their trunks, shrubs, forest undergrowth, noticing various forms of life, multiple shapes and different shades of green. Such slow walks in a forest environment, through a number of factors, help the body to relax, regenerate after stress, normalise vital signs and rebuild immunity. People who are "immersed in forest bathing" experience a reduction in the intensity of tension, anxiety, fear, depression, fatigue and anger, while their sense of satisfaction, peace, vitality and joy increases.
